A major change
Have you considered making a major change in any area? Charles Du Bos has a fantastic proverb I like to use when it's time for me to make a major change. He said: “The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.”
Most people are afraid of letting go of what they have, and don’t understand that they cannot get what they want until they let go of what they have. We need to learn to be able to at any moment sacrifice what we are in order to grow into something new. We have to let go of the boards in order to stand on our own.
I’ve had to let go of the view of myself as not being able to or not enjoying writing. In school, I hated writing essays, and in my professional life, I had developed the ability to communicate by talking to people. For many years I told myself that I was worthless at writing, but discovered that I had to reevaluate that in order to progress. I had to get better at writing. To develop scripts, newsletters, and books, in order to get to where I wanted to be. Now everything has changed, for example, writing “Accelerate with Ola” is now one of the highpoints of my week.
What does it look like in your life? What is it you have to let go of in order to develop and progress in your life?
Accelerate throughout the week by determining what it is you need to let go of in order to progress - it’s probably some of your most appreciated truths about yourself. Do it right now, before the end of the week. Then you can see how fun it is to become the person you want to be.
